Why don't you offer free shipping as a regular feature?

Quite simply there is no such thing as free shipping, with one exception. A famous American once said "There is no such thing as a free lunch." Well that is quite true, anything of value has a charge associated with it. We charge actual shipping charges plus a nominal handling charge to cover addressing, packing and all those things associated with shipping a product. This charge amounts to $4.00 or less per order, not package. Those who offer "free shipping" actually have the cost of shipping built into the price of the product. This means if you live across the street from the warehouse you pay the same shipping as the person who lives across the country. They have to build the cost into the price, they have no choice. Shipping is expensive, especially on large beds. If you compare our prices with our shipping you will find we are very competitive and in many cases less expensive than those offering free shipping. And the exception mentioned above? Some manufacturers require that we charge a certain price for thier products, when that is the case, the only way we can pass a savings on to you is to give you free shipping on that product. Just as stated above the shipping cost is built into the price of the product, since we cannont charge less but can accept a lower profit, we give you free shipping and accept the loss of shipping costs.

Why is the weight of the bed so much?

The weights listed on our site are the "apparent" weights charged by UPS based on the size of the package. This only comes into play when the bed must be shipped in a package that exceeds normally allowed shipping sizes. UPS calls these packages over-sized. With a few exceptions this only applies to extra large through extra extra large beds. The formula converts the size of the package to an apparent weight that is used to determine shipping charges. This allows us to calculate actual charges for your order. The formula used by UPS is Length X Width X Height, then if the result is over 5,184 cubic inches the answer is divided by 194 and this is the weight that will be used to calculate the charge. We have no control over this, it is set by the various shippers.

What is eLayaway and how do I use it.

eLayaway is a payment method that allows you to make a purchase and make payments over a 3 month period just like a layaway purchase at a local store. What is your minimum order?

We have no minimum order. We do at times run discounts for larger orders. Check our home page for any specials, also certain products will at times have special shipping discounts. Please watch for these as well.

What is your return policy?

We will accept returns on any item, for any reason as long as returns are made within 14 days of purchase and are in original, manufacturer packaging and include all accessories. Items must be clean and free of animal residue or signs of wear, or we may refuse to issue credit. A 15% restocking fee will apply to some beds that we sell, most of these are marked as such in the product description. Customer is responsible for any and all shipping charges on the return, unless we shipped an incorrect or damaged item. In order to make a return, please call to obtain an RMA#. Returns sent without an RMA# will be subject to a 20% restocking/research fee. Contact Support@FurPersonDogBeds.Com or call 785-357-6840 Do Not Call The Manufacturer unless advised to do so by us. In the event of a free shipping promotion, any return that causes the order to fall below the free shipping minimum will result in a charge for the actual shipping expenses which will be deducted from the refund amount. We cover all product problems, except products that have been damaged by chewing, dragging or other abuse. We cannot exchange or refund charges on personalized items unless there is a defect in materials or workmanship. Please use care in selecting sizes on personalized items for this reason. What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discovery, PayPal and eLayaway.

Is it safe to use my credit card online?

Yes, we use an up to date secure ordering system, 128 bit SSL, that makes it impossible for unauthorized people to gain access to your sensitive information. We do not store your credit card information online, use it only to make your order and remove it from our files as soon as possible.

What size bed is right for my dog?

There are three rules of thumb often used when answering this question. 1. Measure Your Pet Lying Down. 2. Use the Weight of the Pet. 3. When in doubt get the larger, not the smaller size. In general we believe that measuring your pet lying down as he is normally accustomed to lying, is the best way. Measure from nose or front legs, to back legs or rump; add 9" to 12." Pick the size of the bed that will best fit those measurements, remembering that round bed measurements are in diameter (width across the circle). It is also possible to guesstimate the correct size based on the weight of your dog. I received one of the items I ordered but not all of them, where are my others.

We do not back order items without advising you of this so it probably isn't a back order. We have several items that must ship from different warehouses. Depending on the location of the various warehouses it may take a day or two more for some items to reach you than others. If you haven't received your complete order within 2 or 3 days of your first item please contact us at (785) 357-6840 or e-mail Support@FurPersonDogBeds.Com. We will check on the delayed item(s) and advise you of the status of those items. You may also track the status of your order by clicking on the "Track Order" Icon at the top of the page or click here.

When will we receive our order?

We will have your order processed within 1 business day. Most of our products will ship within 2 business days. Items from Snoozer are custom built by the manufacturer on order. Depending on the backlog they will ship in 1 to 6 weeks. We occasionally are forced to place items on back-order. If an item you order must be back-ordered we will notify you and provide an estimated shipping date. If you choose you may cancel a back-ordered item within 2 days of this notification. Most packages will arrive within 5 days of being shipped. Generally you will receive your order in less than 2 weeks. In the case of Snoozer products, you will receive the order within 2 to 7 weeks.

Are your products hypoallergenic?

Most of our products are hypoallergenic. In the case that they are not we will advise you of that fact in the text of the product description. Please read all descriptions carefully.

What kind of dog do you own?

We, the owners, currently own a Shih Tzu. We have owned terriers, Labradors, mixed breeds, an Irish Setter, cocker spaniels and Siberian Huskies. We have owned males and females. We have acquired most of our dogs as puppies and trained them ourselves. We do not enter them in shows as we do not have the amount of time needed to devote ourselves to that undertaking; as such our dogs are strictly pets not show dogs, although we always feel they are champions.
