It can used it outdoors if some care is taken. Because of the air grommet holes on the sides, which permit this waterproof bed to breathe, this bed will collect water & moisture inside the waterproof cover if left in the rain or in high humidity. You may use it outdoors, but don't leave it exposed to constant high humidity and keep it under cover as in a dog house, well under a car port or in a garage.
