These dogs and their people had a lot of fun at the RenFest, despite the mud on the day we attended. Remember if you take your dog to an event like this it can be a real treat for you and your fur person, but there are a few things to remember. Your dog should be well behaved, always on a leash and gentle, many people will want to pet your dog including many children and there will be other dogs around. You should be prepared to clean up any messes your pet makes, likely as these events usually last all day long. Be sure your pet is in shape for an entire day of walking or make some arrangements to carry them, leaving them in the car is rarely a good idea. Many times there will be watering spots for animals, but you need to be sure to have water and possibly a little food available for your precious dog. Speaking of food you need to watch that your pet does not get into something that might make them sick, there is bound to be a lot of paper and other trash about, much of which will smell like food. Watch out for turkey bones as well. It can also become very crowded, be prepared to move your fur person to a less congested area to avoid having them stepped on. This makes it sound like it will be a great deal of work to take your pet out, but it really is not. I find it is generally easier to take good care of my dog than my children, both require attention and effort, but both are a tremendous joy to have with you when you are having a good time at a special event. Keep these suggestions in mind, pack your pets things, and have a ball.
